I’m exhausted. Thank God it’s Friday.
It started on Saturday. Lunch with Siri at The Drapers Arms and then all over Islington to explore, with stops at 4-pinter The Compton Arms and 3-pinter 25 Canonbury Lane.
Then there was Sunday and lunch with Rutton at The Ladbroke Arms and then dinner with Gerry, Ben, Matt and Carolyn at Little Bay. (Write-up pending.) Followed by a few beers at Stonch’s pub.
I won’t bore you with the details of Monday and Tuesday. (Less drinking, more running.) But Wednesday meant drinks at The East Room with Ben and John and then more drinks and a few courses at the Bacchus farewell party with Trig’s Dad, Pete from This Edible Life, and Roshani from Living to Eat. Oh and Ben from Food & Drink!
And last night meant a return to Fifteen, but the trattoria this time. And it was honestly one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a while. I had the aubergine and I would have skinned it and de-cored it if I were them. And I don’t cook. Plus it was a tad cool. And it just didn’t taste good.
But the meal was slightly redeemed by my excitement over the presence of my little friend here, Dyson. I love Dyson Airblades. In Tokyo, I saw this style of machine all over. It just seems to be Dyson who has popularized it here.
So hey, the Olympic Opening Ceremonies are today. I think I may take advantage of Summer Hours at the office and veg out on the sofa for the rest of this afternoon.
Have a good weekend. And get some rest!

You sound as knackered as me – and I have similar plans for this afternoon. Before you rest, though, here’s the link to Pete’s blog.

You should have received the photos from Bacchus by now.
Hi Mike,
Yes, I got the photos! Thanks for sharing them, and thanks for arranging such a great night out!

P.S. Fixed the link to Pete.
I love those Dyson hand driers too. They really should be in more places!
