The Background: Sarah and Arielle have invited me over for tea and cake. I remember reading somewhere that guests should always bring chocolate. I am wandering down Camden Passage on my way to the tube (it’s the scenic route) when I come across Paul Young (the store, not the person). Chocolate!
To be honest, chocolate is not really my thing. I like cheesecake. And lemon tart. And the odd ginger snap. But one step into Paul Young, and I’m hooked. And hey, there’s Paul himself! (I remember reading somewhere that he has ginger hair. There he is, walking around with boxes! Brush with fame.)
I’m approached by a friendly staff member with a white glove. She hand packs my selected chocolates for me (the stilton one being an odd, but delicious and cheesecake-y addition), and I give in to temptation and grab a ginger stem brownie too. (It’s so rich, it takes me four days to eat. One quarter at a time.)
The Verdict: Love it. Love Paul. Can’t wait for Valentines Day. (This presumes I’ll have a Valentine.)

I’d never noticed this shop before, but was intrigued by your tales of stilton chocolate. It is indeed odd but delicious. Though I don’t think I’m addicted. Which is lucky, because they’re £1.50 a pop and none of my friends make such generous dinner party guests!
